Ten more COBRA battalions by 2011
New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) The government today sanctioned raising of ten battalions of the elite Commando Battalions for Resolute Action (COBRA) in the next three years, of which two would be raised within this financial year.
These two battalions would be stationed at Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh and Koraput in Orissa, according to the CRPF.
While another four would be raised in the next fiscal, the remaining would be raised in 2010-11.
Besides this, the government has also sanctioned upgradation of the Counter Insurgency and Anti-Terrorist School (CI&AT) in Assam.
It will be able to train 700 personnel annually, it added.
