Muniappa for inquiry into destruction of statue
Kolar, Karnataka, Sep 18 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Surface Transport K H Muniappa today urged the Karnataka Government to conduct an inquiry into the destruction of a statue at a place of worship in the town yesterday.
Mr Muniappa told reporters here that the culprits should be booked immediately and punished for desecrating the 134-year-old statue of St Mary.
He also appealed to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to take action in promoting communal harmony and peace in the town following the incident.
Earlier, Former Chief Minister S M Krishna also visited the spot and enquired about the situation with the local people.
