Logica opens second facility at Chennai

Bangalore, Sep 18: Logica, one of the leading IT and business services company on Thursday, Sep 18 opened its facility at Chennai, the second in India after Bangalore and has earmarked an investment of around Pound 8 million to accelerate blended delivery and grow its offshore and nearshore centers.

The new centre would support the company's future offshore growth providing services in the areas of Business Process Outsourcing, Remote Infrastructure Management and Application Services Speaking at the press briefing held at the new facility Andy Green said that "India is a key strategic market for Logica and the new facility in Chennai will further accelerate the deployment of our successful blended global delivery model. As the centre grows we will build specific competency areas based on client requirements.

The investment climate, facilities and talent available in Chennai are excellent." Company CEO Abhay Guptee said "the Logica approach to blended services enables its customers to benefit from a unique mix of expertise, availability and cost competitiveness. The addition of the Chennai centre has enhanced our capabilities to provide blended delivery services to our clients globally." Currently the Logica facility in Bangalore houses about 3000 employees and provides the full spectrum of system integration and outsourcing services, including System Design, Applications and Product Development, Applications Management, Infrastructure Management and Business Process Outsourcing. India also plays a pivotal role in leading a comprehensive program to design and implement a group-wide innovation strategy.
