Srinagar, Sep 18 (UNI) The first batch of the Haj-2008 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir will leave for Jeddah on October 30, officials said.
They said as per the schedule finalised by the Central Haj Committee, there would be only one Haj flight from Sheikh-ul-Aalam airport here from October 30 to November 12.
However, from November 13, two flights would operate between here and Jeddah till the last flight.
The pilgrims would start their return journey from the holy city after performing the Haj from December 14.
They said the first flight would leave at 1030 hrs from here, while the second at 1230 hrs.
The State Haj Committee has already made arrangements to provide different kinds of facilities to the pilgrims like immigration clearance, custom clearance, distribution of foreign exchange, lodging and boarding transportation at The Haj House.
However, no attendant would be allowed to enter the Haj House where the home guard volunteers would be assigned the job of carrying the pilgrims' luggage of pilgrims at the Haj House and airport.
More than 8,000 pilgrims from the state would perform the Haj-2008.
