Deep depression crosses Orissa coast

Visakhapatnam, Sep 18 (UNI) Yesterday's deep depression over North West Bay of Bengal crossed the Orissa coast near Chandbali this afternoon.

The depression moved West Northwestwards and lay centred over north Orissa near Jharsiguda, a special weather bulletin issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre here said.

Under its influence, rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Strong surface winds from westerly direction with speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours, it added.
