Swedish team visits Mysore's industrial zones

Mysore, Sep 17 (UNI) An eight-member team from Eskilstun town in Sweden today held talks with the Mysore Industries Association leaders on the prospects of industries in and around the city.

The team, led by Mayor Hans Ekstrom who was accompanied by Mr S R Vijya, Adivsor, India Relationships, was apprised of the industrial scenario of Mysore city and the entire district including Hebban industrial area and industrial estates of Koorgahlli, Tandavapura, Belawadi and Nanjangud.

District Industries Centre Joint Director Shivashankar had informed them that there were 21,688 registered industries in Mysore city and in the district, which generated 1,05,691 jobs.

Necessary infrastructure created by the Industries Department included double rail track, expressway and highways connecting the district to the rest of the country.

Senior officer of Eskilstuna Administration Eva Lilja, while presenting the details of the industrial scenario in Eskilstuna, described nuclear and hydel power as major sources of energy with biogas as supplementary. The team later visited various industrial areas.
