Petition related to construction of mental hospital disposed
Bilaspur, Sep 17 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh High Court has disposed of a petition related to the need of a mental hospital in the state with the government submitting an affidavit that hospital building would be constructed by December.
Hearing a four-year-old petition filed by Raipur-based Forum for Fact Foundation and Documentation Advocacy yesterday, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Rajeev Gupta and Justice Sunil Sinha said the petition had been disposed as the objective had been served.
Submitting the affidavit on the behalf of the government, the Director (Health) said construction of hospital building would be complete by December 2008. Construction began in May 31, 2007 and would be completed within time.
Petitioner's counsel Meena Shastri had raised the issue of a mentally challenged woman and emphasised on the need for a mental hospital.
