MPHC stay in Mayor case
Jabalpur, Sep 17 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today stayed issuance of any order by a Principal Secretary (PS) in a case relating to removal of the Mayor of this division's Katni.
While hearing a plea by Mayor Sandeep Jaiswal, Justice K K Lahoti directed PS Raghav Chandra not to issue any order in this regard. Mr Chandra was asked to provide a reply and September 24 set as the next date of hearing.
During Mr Chandra's tenure as Commissioner (Housing Board), a plot was purchased in Katni at high price after the plot was described as ''developed.'' The Economic Offences Wing is already conducting an investigation against Mr Chandra following a court directive.
