KSEB will be retained in Public sector: CM
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 17: The Kerala government is taking all steps to retain the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in the Public Sector, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said today.
Talking to reporters here after the weekly Cabinet meeting, he said in the wake of the Centre's move to reconstitute the KSEB, the government would convene a meeting of all political parties and trade unions separately to discuss the issue and chalk out a strategy against the move.
Mr Achuthanandan said the government had sought one more year from the Centre for completing the formalities to reconstitute the KSEB as directed by it, but the request was turned down by the Union Government.
Though the government had discussed the issue with Union Energy Minister, the Central government had not said anything, he said and added that the Cabinet had decided to express its strong protest to the Centre.
