Kerala asks centre to cut petroleum prices
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 17: The Kerala government today urged the Centre to take immediate steps to cut the prices of petroleum products as crude oil prices had come down in the international market.
Briefing Cabinet decisions to reporters here, he said the Cabinet had given its approval in this regard as crude oil prices had come down by 40 per cent in the international market.
Pointing out that the crude oil price has come down to 91 dollar per barrel from 147 dollars, he said it was quite ''objectionable'' on the part of the Centre that they were not ready for reducing the prices of petroleum products.
Mr Achuthanadan alleged that even after continuing the skyrocketing of the prices of essential commodities, the Centre was not prepared to reduce the prices of petroleum products.
