HP to introduce hydro engineering in technical institutions
Hamirpur, Sep 17 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government is considering to introduce hydro engineering and allied sciences in all the state owned technical educational institutions.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal while addressing a public meeting at Bhoranj in the district on Tuesday said that the government was considering to introduce hydro power generation in the syllabus of all the state owned engineering colleges, polytechnics and ITIs.
He said that Himachal had about 25 per cent hydro power potential of the country available for exploitation out of which, only 25 percent had been exploited so far and added that efforts were afoot to exploit over 50 percent of the same by year 2012.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that nine ITIs including the Bhoranj ITI were being upgraded with modern educational facilities by spending Rs 22.5 crore during current financial year.
