Haryana implementing Rs 4016 cr projects in NCR area

Chandigarh, Sep 17 (UNI) The Haryana government is implementing as many as 47 projects for strengthening the infrastructure of the state area falling under National Capital Region (NCR) at a total cost of Rs 4016.45 crore with the assistance of National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB).

This was stated by Haryana Chief Secretary Dharam Vir while presiding over a meeting of High Powered Committee to review the progress of NCRPB-funded projects here.

Of the total funding of the NCRPB projects which were being implemented in the state at present, the share of NCRPB was Rs 2443.53 crore and the state share was Rs 862.40 crore.

Besides, one project of Irrigation department of Rs 322 crore was under process for sending to NCRPB.

The Chief Secretary directed all the departments implementing NCRPB-funded projects to ensure the third party evaluation by an independent agency to access the outcome of the funds utilised.

Mr Dharam Vir also advised Financial Commissioner, Finance to take meeting of the concerned departments on every seventh of the month to ensure release of requisite funds with a view to accelerating the pace of works of the projects sanctioned by the Board.

He advised them to have web based monitoring system, which should be regularly updated and ensure the early completion of the projects prepared by state government departments to avoid time and cost over-runs.
