Maharashtra: Four killed in fridge explosion
Mumbai, Sep 17: Four members of a family, including a woman, were killed after the compressor of a refrigerator exploded in the Indira Nagar slum at Sakinaka, a western suburb, late last night.
Police today said the explosion occurred in the house of one Abdul Sheikh at around 2300 hrs. It caused a short circuit, leading to fire, in which the four family members suffered burn injuries.
They were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where the doctors declared them brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Mohammed Shamim Abdul Sheikh (20), Najnina Mohammed Shamim Sheikh (18), Mohammed Alim Abdul Kamal Sheikh (19) and Mohammed Kalim Abdul Kalam Sheikh (17), they added.
