Fake currency of over Rs one lakh seized; 5 held
Lucknow, Sep 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police seized counterfet currency of over Rs one lakh from the possession of five people in Kanpur and Kannauj overnight.
Reports reaching here from the state police headquarters stated Rs 95,000 fake currency was recovered after a raid in Bishungarh area of Kannuaj district. People persons were nabbed over the same.
The seizure comprised Rs 500 denomination notes.
Besides this, cops seized Rs 12,400 from a man, who worked at a nursing home in Kanpur. His two associates, however, managed to escape.
Later, police raided the house of one of them and seized Rs 5,000 phoney money from the spot.
