Elephant menace on rise

Madikeri, Sept 17 (UNI) Elephant menace is on the rise at South Kodagu and a protest against the forest department is on card.

Planters V. Badaga told scribes that herds of elephants are rampaging their crops and property and they are incurring huge a loss.

The forest department is turning a deaf ear towards their repeated complaint, he alleged.

The planters and villagers told scribes in South Kodagu that they will hold a fierce protest before the DFOs office at Virajpet in a couple of days time to demand immediate action.
