Depression lay centered close to Chandbali

Visakhapatnam, Sep 17 (UNI) The deep depression over North West Bay of Bengal crossed Orissa and lay centered 50 km close to Chandbali this morning.

A specal weather bulletin issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) here said the system is likely to intensify further. Under its influence, rain or thundershowers were likely at many places with isolated heavy rainfall over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 36 hours.

Strong surface winds from Westerly direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph are likely along and off Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

The condition of sea would be rough to very rough along and off Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Distant cautionary signal No 1 has been hoised at all the major ports in Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, Nizampatnam, Krishnapatnam and Kakinanda, the bulletin added.
