Contract workers stage dharna before TTD departments
Tirupati, Sep 17 (UNI) Demanding regularisation of services, contract workers in various TTD departments, including 'Nintya Annadhanam' complex and forest department staged dharna in front of the TTD administration building here today.
About 200 workers, including women, led by CPM leader K Murali and CITU leader Nagaraju took out a procession and reached the TTD administration building where they staged the dharna, raising slogans in support of their long pending demands.
They also demanded that the TTD authorities should provide minimum wages to them and their services should not be terminated whenever the contractor changed. Besides, they should be provided all necessary facilities including medical and PF benefits.
After an assurance by the TTD Executive Officer K V Ramanachary, the workers called off their dharna.
