Church attacked in Kolar

Kolar, Sept 17 (UNI) The violence spread to other parts of the state as a mob attacked a protestant church in Kolar early this morning.

Police said that the mob attacked the church around 0400 hrs and damaged a statue of St Mary at a 45-year old church situated near the old bus stand in the heart of the city.

The police have beefed up security measures around the church following the incident this morning.

They said the situation is tense but control.
