27-year-old woman burnt to death
Barnala, Sep 17 (UNI) A 27-year-old woman, mother of two small children, was allegedly burnt to death by her husband and in-laws in Farwahi village today.
The victim's brother, Mukhtiyaar Khan, in his statement to police said that his brother-in-law Nirmal Khan today called him in morning and informed that his sister Sarifa received serious burn injuries while she was cooking food on stove in morning. She was rushed to Malerkotla Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
However, the brother alleged that the family is misleading the police. He alleged that his sister's husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law used to harrass her for dowry and today killed her when their demands were not fulfilled.
The body has been sent for the postmortem. Police has registered a case against the five members of the family and further investigating the matter.
