1,500 additional Haj seats for J

Srinagar, Sep 17 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir has been alloted 1,500 additional seats for Haj-2008, officials said today.

They said since the additional seats alloted was less than the applications still pending with the State Haj Committee (SHC), it has decided to select the pilgrims through draw of lots.

The SHC has decided to telecast live the proceedings of the computerised draw of lots on local 'kendra' of Doordarshan from Haj house at Bemina tomorrow.

The Executive officer of the SHC has, however, requested the intending pilgrims not to come to Haj House and watch the proceedings on television.

The authorities in different districts have, meanwhile, started necessary training of selected Haj pilgrim in the Valley.
