Villagers protest before poultry farm

Karur, Tamil Nadu, Sep 16 (UNI) Villagers of Nadanthai, Malaikovil, Nalliampalayam, Sellampalayam and surrounding villages staged a demonstration before a private poultry farm at Thulukkapalayam Village, near here, today protesting the unhygienic conditions in and around the poultry farm, posing a grave health hazard.

According to the villagers, the farm was not maintained properly resulting in fly menace.Despite repeated representation to the district administration, the problem was not yet solved.

If the authorities did not take suitable action against the farm owners, all the villagers would surrender their family cards to the district administration, they warned.
