Lucknow, Sep 16 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has blamed the United Progressive Alliance(UPA) government at the Centre for neglecting the demands of the state to provide adequate vaccines for different diseases and held it responsible for the deaths of children due to Japanese Encephilites(JE), Acute Encephilites(AE) and Malaria.

'' The Centre has only been interested in criticising the state and doing politics over the health issues of the children and not cooperating with the state health department'', claimed State Health Minister Anant Kumar Mishra here today.

Addressing a press conference Mr Mishra said the Centre had not sent a single dose of DPT vaccines .

Against the demand of 10 lakh doses of JE/AE vaccines from the Centre after fully distributing 1.9 crore vaccines, the Centre had only supplied 4.6 lakh doses of JE/AE to the state government and it was too tested sub-standard.

''The Centre had supplied more vaccines to Maharashtra and other smaller states than UP which proves the step-motherly treatment of the state'', he said.

The State Health Minister also raked up the issue of non-supply of equipments by the Centre to maintain cold chain for these vaccines while demand for one lakh rapid test kit for Malaria was still pending.

He said till today, 234 patients of AE have died in the state against the total 1364 patients suffering from the disease.'' 18 deaths due to malaria were also reported in the state'', the minister admitted.
