US strikes in Pakistan will harm democracy: Zardari
London, Sep 16 : After meeting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has said US strikes inside Pakistan would complicate the situation and harm democracy.
Zardari said he is confident that the US will not again undertake any strikes in Pakistan.
Zardari said that a joint communiqu would soon be issued with full details of the meeting.
Talking to reporters, Zardari said he was satisfied with the meeting and that he was confident that Britain would continue to support democracy in Pakistan.
Zardari said Brown understands the situation in Pakistan, but declined to say whether Britain's stance on cross border strikes into Pakistan has changed.
Both leaders also held discussions on international, regional and bilateral issues. The issue of ongoing war on terrorism figured prominently during the parleys.
