RBI fixes reference rate at Rs 46.63 per USD

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for US dollar at Rs 46.63 per unit, shot up by 69 paise, against yesterday's rate of Rs 45.94 per dollar.

The reference rate for Euro, increased by 54 paise at Rs 66.49 per unit, from yesterday's close of Rs 65.95 per unit, an RBI release stated.

The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were quoted high at Rs 83.7638 (82.8459) per Pound and Rs 44.75 (43.42) per 100 units of Yen.
