Prince William to become full-time Search and Rescue pilot with RAF
London, September 16 : Prince William will soon begin training to become a fulltime Search and Rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force.
The second in line to the throne has already gained experience with the Army and the Royal Navy to prepare his future in the British Armed Forces.
"I now want to build on the experience and training I have received to serve operationally - especially because, for good reasons, I was not able to deploy to Afghanistan this year with D Squadron of the Household Cavalry Regiment," the Sun quoted him, as saying.
The 26-year-old future King, who wants to fulfil his ambition to 'serve operationally', added: "Joining Search and Rescue is a perfect opportunity for me to serve in the Forces operationally, while contributing to a vital part of the country's emergency services." The Prince would begin an 18-month training course with RAF in January next year.
