CBI seeks six months more to complete SNC Lavalin probe
Kochi, Sep 16 (UNI) The CBI today sought six months more from the Kerala high court to complete its investigation in the SNC Lavalin case and file the final report.
The agency filed an application, stating that it was making earnest efforts to bring the culprits to the book. The case pertains to the alleged losses of more than Rs 300 crore incurred by the Kerala State Electricity Board in awarding the contract for revamping three power plants in the state to the Canadian company SNC Lavalin during the previous tenure of the LDF Government.
The central agency also filed a progress report on the investigation in a sealed cover to the registrar general of the high court.
The high court had on March 18 this year directed the CBI to complete the investigation within six months.
The time granted by the high court will end on September 18. The CBI application is likely to be considered by the court on that day.
