Catholic Congress demands ban on extremist organisations
Kottayam, Sep 16 (UNI) All Kerala Catholic Congress (AKCC) today appealed to the Centre to ban religious extremist organisations in the country, in the wake of attacks on places of worship in Orissa and Karnataka.
In a resolution the congress Working committee strongly condemned the attack on places of worship at Mangalore and other areas in Karnataka. Political motivation was behind the attack, the Committee charged in the resolution. Its president M D Joseph Manniparambil presided over the meeting.
Later, talking to newspersons the Catholic Congress leaders said the 90th state conference of AKCC would be held at Changanacherry near here on September 19 and 20.
The meeting would discuss the challenges against the catholic Community, they said.
