BSF personnel attempts suicide in Samba

Jammu, Sep 16 (UNI) A jawan of Border Security Force (BSF) today attempted suicide while on duty with his service weapon at Chamliyal on International Border in Ramgarh Sector of Samba district, official sources here today said.

''The BSF jawan identified as R N Sawant Rao of 91 BN today shot himself with his service rifle in his neck and got critically wounded,'' the sources told UNI.

He was immediately shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital where his condition was critical, the sources added stating that the reason behind this extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
