Airtel slashes processing fee on all top-ups
New Delhi, Sep 16: Complying with telecom regulator TRAI's guidelines, Bharti Airtel on Tuesday, Sep 16 announced reduction in processing fee on its all top-ups for its mobile subscribers.
"The processing fee limited to Rs 2 would be charged on all talk time recharge vouchers/top-ups," Bharti Airtel said in an advertisement in media. Other operators are expected to follow suit. Recently, the Telecom Regulator Authority of India (TRAI) has asked telecom operators not to charge more than Rs 2 on top-up recharge coupons in the name of administration fees.
The regulator has asked the operators to comply by the guidelines by September 15. TRAI has also asked the operators to waive the processing fees on such cards and recommended displaying information in various media. The waiver of processing fees would offer more talk-time on such recharge cards.
