Two army jawans among 4 killed in Poonch encounter

Jammu, Sep 15 (UNI) Two army soldiers among four persons were killed, while a jawan got seriously injured in the ongoing encounter in Surankote area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said.

''The security forces launched the search operation again this morning to locate the militant, who managed to hoodwrink the police and army last evening during an encounter, in which his two associates were killed,'' police sources told UNI.

The security forces today intensified the search operation, while the militants opened fire, which was retaliated following a fierce gun battle.

''Two army troops and as many policemen were killed and a jawan got critically wounded in the ongoing encounter, while the number of militants cannot be ascertained yet,'' a senior police official said.
