Three killed, 19 injured as bus plunges into river
Rajkot, Sep 15 (UNI) As many as three passengers were killed and 19 others injured when a Gujarat State Roadway Transport (GSRT) bus plunged into the Phulzar river from the bridge, near Jetpur, on Rajkot-Veraval highway late last night.
The bus was on its way to Unja from Junagadh, when the incident occurred.
On hearing the screams of passengers, nearby villagers and police started rescue operations. The police with the help of villagers removed the passengers from the ill-fated bus, which was trapped in the swirling waters of the river. The injured were shifted to Junagadh hospital, the official sources said.
