Three Govt officials suspended in Katra

Jammu, Sep 15 (UNI) Three government officials of Health Department were suspended by the authorities for remaining absent from their duties while showcause notice was served to the senior doctor posted at Katra hospital in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources here today said.

''The officials including two ambulance drivers and one fourth class employee were suspended while showcause notice was served to the senior doctor to explain the reason behind officials remaining absent from their duties,'' sources told UNI.

Sources revealed that the episode was brought to the notice of the authorities when some locals from a village Seera, reached Katra hospital for an ambulance to shift a critically injured man hit by a truck.

Meanwhile, on finding ambulance along with the drivers absent, the villagers ransacked the hospital and lodged protest while SDM Katra, Deputy CMO reached the hospital and pacified the situation.

Three officials were suspended on the spot and a notice was served to the senior doctor demanding explanation, sources asserted.
