Stoning during Ganesha immersion prcoession, six injured

Dhar, MP, Sep 15 (UNI) Six people were injured in a clash between members of two communities over objection to playing of bands during a religious procession for immersing Ganesha idol at Palwada village in this district last night, police said today.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Yogendra said an argument started over playing of bands when the procession was passing near a place of worship. Meanwhile, some people started pelting stones during which a few people were attacked.

A case has been registered against 17 people belonging to a particular community. Seven people have been arrested, while the rest were absconding.

Superintendent of Police Chanchal Shekhar said additional police force have been sent and the situation was under control in Palwada.
