RJD chargesheets Nitish on lapses leading to catastrophic flood

Patna, Sep 15 (UNI)RJD today chargesheeted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar holding him responsible for the lapses leading to breach in Kosi embankment at Kushaha on August 18 which caused catastrophic flood in north Bihar.

Senior RJD leader and former state water resources minister Jagdanand Singh told reporters here that despite tall claims of NDA government, nothing concrete measure was taken by the Nitish Kumar Government for completion of flood protection works before the onset of monsoon this year.

''Mr Kumar, as the head of state government can not shirk off his responsibilty for the failure of the Bihar government in completing appropriate flood protection works in the time'', he said adding the people of Bihar would not forgive for the criminal negligenc in this regards.

''I have submitted the chargesheet giving details of lapses of the state government in completing the flood protection works which caused breach in Kosi embankment'', Mr Singh said and added that it was now for the peoples court to deliver its verdict.
