Rajnath lauds self for running clean regime; flays Maya, Mulayam
Behraich, Sep 15 (UNI) Unleashing vitriol on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and Samjwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav over their alleged involvement in corrupt activities, BJP President Rajnath Singh said had he done such wrong as CM he would have resigned the post.
While adressing the ''Vijay Sankalp'' rally here, Mr Singh said CBI also had enough proof against the BSP and the SP supremo, who had committed several irregularities during their regime.
Mr Singh said BSP was following in the footsteps of the SP and was involved in malpractices like that of SP. ''UP is ashamed of this,'' he added.
Both leaders got the opportunity thrice and could have done a lot for the development of the state, however, nothing was done and law and order further deteriorated in the Mayawati regime, he added.
He also questioned the BSP chief of promises made during the last assembly poll, where she stressed upon providing employment to the youth, preventing fake criminal cases and sending Mulayam and Amar Singh to jail.
The UP CM did not keep her promises and situation remained the same, and instead turned worse as far as law and order is considered.
Mr Singh lauded his tenure as the UP CM and said no one can point a finger on him as he had run a clean regime and had worked for the good of state and it's people.
