Passport office clerk arrested for taking bribe
Jalandhar, Sep 15 (UNI) The district vigilance bureau today arrested a clerk of Jalandhar Passport Office for accepting bribe.
The vigilance bureau had recieved a complain against two clerks of the passport office, Bhupinder Singh and Darshan Lal, that they were demanding bribe of Rs 1000 for issuing passport.
The VB today nabbed Bhupinder red-handed while he was accepting the bribe money. However, Darshan Lal managed to escape from the spot.
A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and efforts are on to nail the other accused.
