No immersion of idols in town

Shivpuri, MP, Sep 15 (UNI) In order to preserve Jadhav Sagar lake from pollution caused by immersion of Ganesh idols, the district administration has directed to collect all the idols to immerse them in Sindh river 30 km from here.

The Ganesh Visarjan Utsav was celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety and tableaux of attractive idols of Lord Ganesha were carried out last night.

Union Minister of State for Information Technology and Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Yashodhara Raje Scindia also visited the tableaux and praised its beauty.

Thousands of people from nearby villages gathered to catch a glimpse of the tableaux. Elaborate security arrangements were in place.
