Chamba's Bhuri Singh Museum completes 100 years
Chamba, Sep 15 (UNI) Chamba's famous, Bhuri Singh Museum has completed 100 years of its inception.
State Assembly Speaker Tulsi Ram today visited the museum and assured that all efforts would be made to bring back the ancient glory of this museum, one of the oldest in the country.
During his visit, he said there was a dire need to preserve and conserve the antique and rare art objects kept in the museum. He also called for engaging foreign experts for this purpose.
The museum was founded in Chamba, by its erstwhile ruler Raja Bhuri Singh on September 1, 1908. This museUm once boaSted of about 8500 rare objects.
Mr Tulsi Ram said Raja Bhuri Singh displayed his love for art by founding this museum which is a distinct feature of this town.
