Centre for Communal Harmony Circuit at Vaishali: Raghuvansh

Patna, Sept 15 (UNI) Union Rural Development minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has asked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to prepare a mega project for Communal Harmony Circuit(CHC) at Vaishali to develop it as an 'international tourist spot'.

In his letter to Mr Kumar yesterday, the union minister who represents Vaishali Lok Sabha seat, asked the former to draft a proposal for the mega project and send it to the Centre immediately for its clearance.

''The construction of CHC at Vaishali highlighting its glorious historical significance would attract religious tourists from all parts of the country'', Mr singh maintained.

''With the prosperity of almost all religion in Vaishali, the ancient republic, it is a unique example of communal harmony'' the minister said adding being ''karmabhoomi'' of Lord Mahavir and Lord Buddha, Vaishali earned fame for propagating the message of peace and universal brotherhood.

''Besides, being the place of several Sufi saints, Vaishali was full of events depicted in the epics like Ramayana and had a lot of historical temples and other places of worship'', he stated.

Ramayan circuit, Sufi circuit, Buddha circuit and Mahavir circuit should be made in Vaishali which would see the light of development once it was brought on the nations tourist map, Mr Singh pointed out The district had several historical monuments and other structures like abhishek Pushkarni, bauna pokhar, Vishwa shanti stupa (world peace pagoda) and the national emblem, Ashok Stambh was also found in the adjoining Muzaffarpur district'', he said.

It is the birth place of Lord Mahavir who was born at Vasokund in Vaishali where the followers of Jain religion were conturcting a splendid temple'', Mr Singh noted.

Another spots like Chechar, Shwetpur, Paujha and Badoliya in Vaishali and Sudaknagar and Kushi in the nearby Muzafarpur district further adds to the historical importance of the district, he observed.

He said several religious spots of Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs had made Vaishali a glaring example of communal harmony.

In his letter, he further said that keeping in mind all these facts, CHC should be constructed in Vaishali for its over all development and the state government should send a proposal for the mega project to the Centre without wasting further time.
