Stringent action against any offence: Kandasamy

Puducherry, Sep 14 (UNI) Puducherry Cooperative Minister M Kandasamy today warned cooperateve department employees that stringent action would be taken against anyone found guilty of any offence.

Inaugurating the Indian Coffee House branch here, Mr Kandasamy, stressed the need for opening more branches of the coffee house in rural areas and said a subsidy of Rs One crore had been sought for the coffee house, which would be considered as per the availability of finance.

He said the cooperative institutions were running in loss and a committee had been constituted to look into it.

Certain reformations would be brought into the department after getting the report of the committee, he added.

Meanwhile, workers of the coffee house affiliated to CITU and PMC organsied a demonstration in front of the old coffee house on the Nehru street, demanding opening of new branches on the beach road, new bus stand, disbursement of the arrears of salary as per the fourth pay commission recommendations and compulsory weekly off among other demands.
