How to improve security in Metros?
New Delhi, Sep 14: Home Minister Shivraj Patil on Sunday, Sep 14 chaired an emergency meeting to discuss measures to be taken in Delhi and other cities of the country to improve the security scenario following the serial blasts in the national capital.
An hour-long meeting was attended by Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta, National Security Advisor M K Narayanan, Special Secretary Internal Security M L Kumawat, Director Intelligence P C Halder and Chief Secretary of Delhi Rakesh Mehta. The meeting discussed in detail the steps to be taken immediately in various cities to improve security. Details of the meet will be shared with the state governments.

Officials said long-term planning to counter such terror attacks was also discussed at the meet.
It discussed various measures to contain and tackle militant activities besides steps that could forewarn security agencies to take counter initiatives against those behind such attacks, said a senior official, who participated in the meeting.
Several time-bound measures to deal with such problems were also discussed he said adding that various do's and don'ts were also discussed in the meeting.
