Kumbabishegam performed at Panchamukha Anjaneyar temple

Puducherry, Sep 14 (UNI) The Rajagopura Kumbabishegam of the famous Panchamukha Anjaneyar temple at Panchavadi in Villuppuram district of Tamil Nadu, near here, was held today.

Thousands of devotees from Puducherry and all over Tamil Nadu thronged the temple to worship the deity on the occasion.

The 'Yagasaala Pooja' was performed at the temple for the last three-days.

The five storied, 65 feet height, Rajagopuram was constructed at a cost of Rs 70 lakh.

Kilayur Soumiya Narayana Bhattachariyar and Chief Trustee of the Panchamukha Sri Jayamaruthi Seva Trust Rangaraja Bhattacharya performed the Kumbabishegam.

Kumbabishgam Committee President Mr Sivanthi Adithyan and Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious Endowment Commissioenr Mr Pitchandi also participated in the function.

After the Kumbabishegam, "Dasa Darshanam" was permitted in the temple. The Ramar ''Thirukkalyanam" would be performed this evening.

Police have also made elaborate security arrangements during the programme.
