Jyoti Basu's condition stable, second CT scan done

Kolkata, Sep 14 (UNI) Veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu, being treated at the AMRI Hospital for head injuries, today underwent a repeat CT scan as the doctors said his condition was stable.

''Mr Basu's condition is stable and the clinical parameters are within normal limits and he is on a normal diet. A team of doctors is constantly monitoring his condition,'' an AMRI bulletin said.

''The CT scan report will be placed before the medical board tomorrow. Based on the report, the team of doctors will take a decision on the future course of action,'' the bulletin added.

The CPI(M) patriarch was admitted to the hospital on September 7, two days after hurting himself in a fall at his home.

Meanwhile, CPI(M) polit bureau member Brinda Karat, who arrived at the hospital to visit Mr Basu, said, ''His condition is stable now.
