Five killed, seven injured in road accident in HP

Shimla, Sep 14 (UNI) Five people were killed and seven injured when a jeep in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Parmeshwri-Dhank near Bagi, about 100 km from here last night, police here said.

The jeep carrying the 12 people fell into the gorge after the driver lost control of the vehicle, killing three men and two women on the spot.

A police party after learning of the mishap rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital near the tourist resort of Narkanda. Two of the seriously injured were later shifted to the IGMC here while the remaining five are still at the Narkanda hospital.

The deceased were identified as Togya Ram (40), Hira Pati (38), Radha (32), Meena Dorjei (38) and Raju (24).

Police sources said the jeep was on its way to Pujarli in Shimla district from Sangla in Kinnaur district.
