Balapur Ganesh Laddu fetched Rs 5.07 lakh in auction

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) The famous Balapur Ganesh Laddu fetched Rs 5.07 lakh in an auction held in the final stages of the Vinayaka Chathurdhi and Ganesh idols immersion today.

A devotee K Mohan Reedy auctioned the Laddu, amidst thousands of devotees. In all, 22 devotees participated in the auction after paying a prescribed amount as deposit.

The former Sarpanch of Balapur Madhavachari took the laddu for Rs 4.15 lakh in the auction held last year. However, the auction started in 1994, fetched only Rs 450.

The devotees believe that their families would prosper and possess abundant wealth, if they spray the laddu in their agricultural fields.
