Money power ruling politics: Lok Satta
Hyderabad, Sep 13 (UNI) Lok Satta party President Jayaprakash Narayan today alleged money power was ruling politics these days and it had become a money-making profession for many.
Addressing a gathering at Sathya Sai Nigamagamam in city on the concluding day of the two-day Youth Assembly of Hyderabad, organised by Abhyasa Residential Public School, Toopran, he said, politics has become a business and money-making profession for many.
Politicians have turned politics into their private business.
In the American presidential elections, only leaders who are able to raise millions of dollars can enter the fray. A similar situation was emerging in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, he charged.
''With states becoming more powerful, huge amounts are being paid by politicians to become legislators, he alleged and called on the youth of the country to fight against corruption and strengthen the good in the society.
Blue Cross Society Founder Amala Akkineni, World Wildlife Fund (AP Region) Director Farida Tampal and others also spoke on the occasion.
