Chiru to admit more leaders after mass-contact programme

Hyderabad, Sep 13 (UNI) Praja Rajyam Party(PRP) founder and Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi today said he would consider admitting more leaders into his new party after his mass-contact programme later this month.

Welcoming Mr C Ramachandraiah, who had recently quit the main opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) to his fold, the matinee idol said the party committee would go into the biodata of various leaders eager to join him.

He would admit them into the party after his tour of the state to know the pulse of the people. The number of people joining his party was increasing day by day, he claimed.

Mr Ramachandraiah, belonging to the Backward Balija community earlier said it was the TDP founder N T Rama Rao who was instrumental in schemes for welfare of Backward Classes, including political reservation in local bodies.

Meanwhile, talking to newspersons here, state Information and Cinematography Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy alleged that the actor had done nothing to promote the welfare of those in the film industry during his film career spanning 30 years.

What sort of public service he could do in politics, he charged.
