BJP Executive to discuss political, economic resolutions

Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) After taking stock of the political situation and poll preparedness of the state party units, the BJP executive will today take up its deliberations on the political and economic resolutions.

Informed sources said the BJP has completed getting the briefs from party chiefs and general secretaries. The meet will discuss political and economic resolutions before adjourning for the 'Vijay Sankalp' rally at National College Grounds, scheduled to be addressed by BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani and other top leaders.

Karnataka BJP President has, meanwhile, indicated to newspersons that the issue of party facing by-elections caused by the resignations of seven opposition MLAs to join the BJP may figure in the Executive discussions.

There will be one more vacancy in the Assembly due to the death of Janata Dal (Secular) MLA from Maddur in Mandya district.

The state BJP President has also stated that the Executive under normal circumstances will not discuss by-elections.
