Two more arrested in fake currency case

Nashik, Sep 12 (UNI) Two more persons have been arrested in connection with the fake currency racket case here.

Police arrested Akbar Ali Pathan and Maksudkhan Iliyaskhan, both residents of Nashik, yesterday.

According to police, Abdul Karim Mohammed Iqbal, who was arrested on September four with 28 notes of Rs 100 denomination had revealed Pathan's name. During investigation, it was found that Pathan had taken the note from Maksudkhan.

The duo was later remanded to police custody till September 17 by a local court.

Earlier, police arrested Dr Sanjay Gaykhe, Sayyad Abdul Shaikh, Shaikh Shakur Gazi, Siddhartha Rupwate and Kailas Gurav and seized fake note worth Rs 4,100 from them on August 31. Later police seized 80 fake notes of Rs 100 denomination from Kailas Gurav's house in Dhule on September two.

Police said Dr Sanjay Gaykhe was the mastermind behind the fake currency racket.
