Tuition fees for adidravidar students released
Puducherry, Sep 12 (UNI) The Adidrividar Development Department of the territorial administration has released Rs 15.37 lakh towards tuition fees for ten adidravidar students, who were admitted to MBBS course through the Centralized Admission Committee(CENTAC).
According to official sources here, Rs four crore from the Special Component Fund (SCP) meant for the development of Adidravidars was diverted to the department towards tuition fees for 400 adidravidar students, including 33 MBBS, 200 engineering and other Nursing and B Ed courses.
The funds were being made available as an alternative measure since CENTAC had failed to continue with the educational assistance scheme.
For other fees, apart from the tuition fees, the administration was making arrangements to provide long-term loan to the students through the Pondicherry Adi Dravidar Development Corporation (PADCO), sources added.
